Things are not what they seem :

Things we do cos the world ain't perfect. Am observat un pattern la mine si la alti oameni. We tend to invent stuff, to circumvent the real color of reality sometimes. So there are some glorious constructs, to misguide our self from seeing sometimes when the world just ain't perfect. This is probably all natural. But it comes in contradiction with "always being true to yourself" now now ? Is it bad ? If you think it's only a disguise, it's all for show, you might think you're safe, well in the self truth zone. But it's dangerous stuff, if u tend to be swept away by your own costume ! You dont wanna wake up one day to realise this is not Rio, or that your soundtrack of choice nevel let you hear the humming in the grass.

But i digress ! Regardless of the hazards, you have to spice it up a bit, life needs an extra spunk, just choose carefully the exact kind of majik that you _can_ (as in are able ) spawn in reality. Your very own brand, the specific kind that is you. It sounds pretty simple, but day to day interruptions can lead you astray, I for one am a guy with little bookmarks, and that leads to some loss in efficiency of finding back the path to the flow, with the little bonus that you find new things here and there, but if i 'd 've had i had a choice i'd ve gone for the bookmarks.

New York Architecture

O cladire inalta, care mai are si darkness in miezu ei, ca si cum ar avea o lume dincolo de fatzade, furisat asa printre decoratii nebune, well that's it all the Gotham City i need for a while.


Am descoperit un nou arhitect favorit (defapt un atelier). Dadusem peste poza asta sublima cu varful lui "General Electric Building" si o tot intorceam pe toate partile.

Sa un moment dat totul se leaga: atat General Electric cat si o alta veche pasiune de a mea erau facute de aceiasi "Cross & Cross". Cealalta e "Federal Office Building" si poate pt unii e nazista pt altii e stalinista (desi e right next to ground zero in Manhattan) dar pt mine e eleganta sobra si genial decorata. Despre ea "A ... limestone monolith that has trouble deciding between a heritage of stripped-down neo-Classical and ... Art Deco."



Can you _not_ love this city ?

• Fairway's Cold Room is a food-lovers Mecca.

Fairway's e un fel de cel mai puternic Deli (deli nu e magazin de delicatese, ci e banalul supermarket ~ de cartier sa zicem). Cand am intrat prima data la Fayrway's am simtit ca sunt intr-un loc special, in primul rand e mirosul, in diverse locuri deverse "insule" cu branzeturi carnuri paini-uri. Toate miros diferit, dar nu pot uita mirosul. E gigantic, ai senzatia ca o sa gasesti orice, si ca totul e bun. Iar cand intri in camera frigider, cu geci groase la intrare "de luat", stii ca esti in paradis. E greu sa evoc. THIS could help you see my vision of greatness :)







Si Manhattan-ul e frumos si in alte zone, Fairways-ul din Harlem e my "find a happy place" place. Ok in zona in care e el nu e tocmai frumos, desi toata povestea cu Harlem-ul periculos nu mai e de actualitate, dar ce vreau sa zic e ca once you get to love NY you'll love that too.
Ma gandeam ca arat o imagine distorsionata a NY-ului mai Historicist Skyscrapers oriented.

Lesson no. 2

Be average but don't be definable. If they can say your a .... INSERT_GROUP_or_TREND_HERE ..........you're fucked.
Basically this has to be flawlessly executed or it will backfire. So flawless that you cant even be aware you're doing this.
You just kinda have to hope you are this.

(So just watch that your not one that tries hard to not be like any group. That's a sad sad bunch)

Which brings us to part two: Don't try too hard. Again you might take it like I'm a bastard with no feelings but this is how i see it: i really don't believe in epiphanies of any kind, and especially of the cool kind.
If u trying too hard already, this advice might be too late ~ u get my drift. This also means that judging weather it's the case or not is also utterly subjective, but hell ! so what ?

I'm not being rude here, but you really need a wake up call. Just cos you live in Bucharest don't make you an expert in it, sad he, but true. Urban design is a very very complex business. It's something hard to judge even if you're an architect or an urban planner. The emotional approach about this can lead you astray. For example I've read countless arguments in layman's terms about them horrible glass buildings. But all of you people like the architecture of the MNAC, And guess what ? Its got a bigass curtain wall ~ glass that is. It's all good.

Now on the other hand it seems people tend to think they can judge for themselves if something is functioning as good as it can, strangely enough the pessimism we hear when people are whining disappears, and they know it's "a good thing that is gonna be destroyed when bad people make changes". Like before i get into the politics of all this fuss, lemme just say this, how about maybe things are not as good as they can be ?

Then you got the politics side of it, where the evil people might have corrupted the specialists, or even the specialists might have something to win from being "the specialists in charge", true no argument here, but all this whining won't get you nowhere. This is like coming 1 year after the battle to see what you can change. By the time you start making a fuss and petitions that sound like fake "you don't have a heart" yahoo_messenger_mass_spam start flying around it's all done. All you can do is make it worse. You're living in a precarious equilibrium. One you gotta understand you're talking old news. Two you gotta understand that the strings that get pulled will get pulled no matter what, like in any other aspect of our lovely state run operation and actually in any other corrupt or lying bastard of a state anywhere in the worlds. Sorry but is seems like they're mostly evil. What that means is that someone is gonna win something from this either way, and if my calculations are correct, if u make a fuss u get to press the experts and they gonna go for a compromise and the city looses, they just gonna pull some hack out of the hat, because of the pressure, and they be done with it.

So the moral of the story is that the less you fret about this, the more chances for something better to get built.
( It's like a family that is used to give in to the kid that uses blackmail, it's quicksand. Save your battle for another day, think long term, don't just fuss and fret just cos you heard in the media yesterday, and you need to know about yourself that you got a position)

On to the practical side of it, the petition was kinda lame, the pictures were tendentiously reconstructed, i checked it out, asked a few experienced architects, they did show me some of the problems, but they did not get all squeamish about it. So if you have to know our sweet legacy, Calea Victoriei and them 'plazas' have had a building in front of the restaurant 'Cina' so it did divide the whole deal. So by opposing this you're not defending the legacy of old Bucharest are you ? Nevertheless there were issues and I'm not defending the plans because i know too little of them. But i find it kinda off to have such strong opinions when you know even less.

AND you don't wanna be OFF, do you ? Keep with the STANDARD. Peace out !

This rules a lot, Rome is fascinating, because of their values, their way of seeing religion + politics, moral issues, the way they see sex, and intimacy (sex with the servants in the room). And all in all it's a crazy crazy world, probably the Manhattan or Tokyo of his time in terms of fun. And not to forget the~dude, the~prodigy, the~genius ! When we write recent mithology.

Well fore once we gotta spit some cool imagery here and there,
the likes of "Monday morning smiling on your way to work listening to
recorded sounds of last nights silent city on your cdman not hearing
the traffic though"  or "a sensualist is like a carnivore that likes
to chew his food slow to taste it like a herbivore" well you get it.

Then u got something on your mind, a thought an idea, you think of a
possible person, with all the weakness and greatness of a bloody roman
upper class citizen, yea i've been watching too much Rome / HBO.

This person has an unique view of his and your world, saturated with
color, deeper connections and meaning, it's all crazy, but 10% of it
solve issues u thought impossible to decide, let alone solve. Yet you
think what about that other 90% can you trust him ? Does he trust
himself ? His own box of majik ? Is recklessness justified if it spawns
10% gold ? Bye !

Sometimes i think I'm the luckiest guy alive, sometimes i think I'm not lucky enough.
I think you have to be able to look forward and know what you desire. I mean common, lady luck doesn't do mind reading all the time, most of the time you got to wish for stuff.

Dimineatza e singurul "last man standing" din ziua de azi. Dimineatza vine totdeauna singura. Oamenii care cauta grabiti somnul, sau cei care inca incearca sa uite amintirea lui nu sunt decat niste fantome. Au pierdut. Dar nu mai exista energie in sistem, masinaria s-a oprit. Somnul de noapte ramane in urma se spulbera amintirea lui nu mai e real, o finalitate pe care nu o mai poate pune nimeni la indoiala, dar oricum mai sunt ore bune pana se desmorteste  miezul populatiei, pana are cine sa isi puna asemenea probleme.
